Identity is a complex, multi-faceted concept. We often think about our own “identity” as something that is singular and unique, something that reflects our particular mosaic of personality and character traits. But this construction of self is relational, and should be seen as a process embedded in—and constituted by—the social environments in which we live, work, and play.
