The International Institute of Information Technology, Bangalore (IIIT-B) and Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad) to build wide, global alliance for public good

Norad will use the IIIT-B’s modular and open source identity platform (MOSIP) to accelerate its work toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and plans to use the MOSIP partnership to develop and advocate digital identity.

“Built on a bedrock of principles such as scalability, security, and privacy, MOSIP with its modular architecture, customizability and configurability offers countries the flexibility to build digital foundational ID systems based on their specific needs. The platform has been developed in Open Source using open standards and is available in GitHub.”

MOSIP is already supporting the governments of Morocco and the Philippines to adopt digital identity systems according to modern principles, and will be welcoming Guinea and Ethiopia to its platform for pilots soon.

Norad’s support bolsters MOSIP’s efforts to enhance the platform to meet the needs of countries adopting MOSIP and help low and middle-income countries to adopt modern interoperable digital ID systems
