A Twitter thread outlining Nubian Rights Forum’s take on Kenya’s Huduma Namba case

In January, a court ruled that Huduma Namba, the Kenyan government’s biometric ID scheme, can only move forward once regulations around social exclusion and data privacy are implemented.

However, Nubian Rights Forum is appealing the court’s judgment on three areas: system design, discrimination, and its use of the Miscellaneous Amendments Bill. The organization is challenging these judgments in hopes of securing stronger human rights protections.
