How other EU countries can learn from Estonia’s digitization success

In this article, the author argues that EU countries should use Estonia as a model for digitalization, which despite having a population of only 1.3 million, Estonia is a world leader in.

"The government also paved the way for the establishment of a digital ecosystem that allowed start-ups to thrive. The most recent initiative is the e-residency program, which allows doing business in Estonia even if the company’s physical location is outside the borders of the Baltic nation."

Through digitization, Estonia has bolstered its economy - having the highest number of start-ups per capita in the EU. The author highlights data transparency as a cornerstone of Estonia’s success. An EU digital single market could bring economic benefits all round, and set an example for the world. As the Minister of Entrepreneurship and Information Technology emphasises:
