Warren, Head of Blockchain, Digital Currency, and Data Policy at World Economic Forum, spoke about how public awareness of blockchain has skyrocketed, but it needs three things before it can reach its potential. The first of these is digital ID:
“Once we have real traction on a digital identity later, then we will see blockchain unlocked. Until then, we are limited in what we can do,” Warren said.
She argues that blockchain also needs a code of conduct which people can draw from when building applications, and that the return on investment from blockchain is still relatively unstable.
